Kid’s Helmets
If you decide your child will wear a helmet when cycling you need to choose carefully. For a helmet to be as effective as possible it is vital that it is the correct size and that it has been adjusted properly. This last point is often overlooked by parents. A poorly adjusted helmet will not stay in place during an accident and may even cause injury to the child.
How to measure your child's head
Measure around the child's head from a point halfway between the eyebrows and hairline around the back of the head at the widest point. Please note that the circumference of a childs head doesn't grow very much - some quite young children may need an adult sized helmet and some adults still fit into a kids helmet!

Also consider is how the helmet looks - kids will not wear something they consider uncool. The childish designs on many kid's helmets go out of favour at around 5 years old and children then prefer something more adult looking. We sell Giro and Bell helmets. They are the 2 leading helmet brands in the world and their kids helmets are distinguished by their excellent fit systems, that crucially lock in place once adjusted, so you don't have that frustrating situation of carefully adjusting your childs helmet, only to notice it has come loose again a week later.
