The first bike we all dreamed of and the most important bike you’ll ever buy.
The Cnoc 16 Pro Series is a stunning introduction to riding for the young cyclist in your life. Amazing specification and features will give them an unforgettable experience at one of the most important stages of their cycling development.
Frame and fit
Constructed from smooth welded 7005 aluminium, the Pro Series Cnoc frame features a hydroformed top tube, curved downtube and shaped stays. The frame is topped off with a durable satin grey finish with bright red highlights
As with all Islabikes the frame features painstakingly researched geometry and sizing specifically developed for young riders. Our holistic approach to bike design means that all components are carefully selected to complement each other, working together to ensure perfect fit and handling. The result is a more comfortable bike that not only instills confidence in the rider but optimizes efficiency for an exciting, involving riding experience.
Lightweight steering precision
If you’ve ridden a bike with a good carbon fork you will be aware of the benefits. The Cnoc 16 Pro Series features an exclusive carbon fiber fork for the lightest possible weight.
Full UD carbon construction of the fork legs, crown and steerer results in a very light weight of approximately 270 grams. Our exclusive monocoque design features shaped and flattened leg profiles to ensure stable and predictable steering characteristics.
In spite of their exceptionally low weight our forks are built to be extremely durable and withstand rigorous loads, over-and-above testing.
Wheels that keep rolling
Super narrow, lightweight aluminium hubs are laced to Islabikes aluminium 16 hole rims with narrow gauge, double-butted stainless spokes. The result: a very light wheelset with premium rolling performance.
Pro Series hubs feature sealed cartridge bearings which benefit from long service intervals and simple maintenance. Rather than a screw on BMX style freewheel, the Cnoc Pro Series rear hub features an integrated aluminium freehub which means we can fit a lightweight alloy sprocket, saving a substantial amount of weight. These hubs are laced with double butted, stainless, narrow gauge spokes to our exclusive 16″ rims. A single wall, box section aluminium construction ensures these rims are lightweight and durable.
Premium braking for small hands
We’ve combined our exclusive micro reach brake levers with TRP CX 8.4 brake arms. These offer excellent mud clearance and light, controllable braking power for smaller hands.
Islabikes micro reach brake levers have proven so effective since we first introduced them in 2008 that they were obvious choice for our Cnoc Pro Series.
TRP CX 8.4 brake calipers are a high quality brake developed for use in cyclocross. When combined with our brake lever a greater pull ratio is achieved, so for the same travel at the brake lever the brake caliper moves a greater distance when compared to standard, linear pull brake arms. This allows for greater brake pad clearance with the wheel rim, particularly advantageous in wet or muddy conditions, whilst maintaining the light braking action that Islabikes are renowned for.
Ultra light Islabikes aluminium platform pedals with titanium grip pins and axles add up to a very light, grippy and robust pedal which is perfectly sized for smaller feet.
Cnoc Pro Series pedals have a particularly slim profile, which combines with our very narrow Q factor – the distance between the cranks which dictates the spacing of the pedals – to enable us to keep the bottom bracket as low as possible whilst still maintaining a safe lean angle. Low bottom bracket heights improve standover clearance for rider safety and confidence, as well as adding stability when cornering. Low Q factor is particularly important for smaller riders where, as a result of being shorter in the leg, their feet need to be closer together in order to maintain a comfortable and efficient pedaling action.
Control and confidence
Exclusive, double-butted aluminium riser bar with shape and width optimized for smaller riders.
Our very narrow 19mm diameter handlebar combines with Islabikes’ super slim grips resulting in a very short reach to the brake levers, a secure grip and control for young hands.
Fast and grippy
Designed by us to perfectly complement our Pro Series models, these tires significantly enhance riding performance.
We started from the ground up, creating a tire sized perfectly in proportion with the bike. Our tread design has been optimized to offer fast, grippy performance for lighter riders and is mated to a very supple 185TPI casing for excellent ride quality. Kevlar beads and lightweight skinwalls help to keep the tire weights competitively low, reducing critical rotating mass. This all means the bike accelerates more readily, effortlessly turning the rider’s pedaling effort into rapid forward motion. A light wheel is also easier to stop, improving braking performance and confidence.
Attention to the smallest details
Bottom brackets are often a hidden downgrade, even on high end bikes – not so with our Pro Series.
Here you’ll find a Token bottom bracket, featuring hollow titanium spindle with a carbon fiber shell for light weight and reliable, smooth pedaling. We use cartridge bottom brackets as they are available in a wide range of sizes, meaning that we can factor in the perfect spindle width when developing our exclusive low Q factor cranks.
Turning effort into motion
Proportionally designed cranks ensure pedaling efficiency and comfort.
Pro Series aluminium cranks are proportionally sized for smaller riders and designed for very low Q factor and light weight. Q factor is the distance between the cranks which dictates the spacing of the pedals. This is a particularly important consideration for smaller riders where, as a result of being shorter in the leg, their feet need to be closer together. The Pro Series Cnoc 16 cranks have a very low Q factor of 135mm, which combines with 102mm arms to maximize comfort and ensure efficient pedaling action.
The Pro Series Cnoc 16 crank arms benefit from a tough, sleek, black anodized finish. An anodized 25 tooth aluminium chainring is integrated for the lightest possible weight.
The drivetrain is fully enclosed in Islabikes’ exclusive no-tools chainguard. Developed by us with German specialists Hebie, this innovative guard is fabricated from a special, extremely durable, low resistance plastic and floats freely on the chain.
Islabikes’ proportional saddle design delivers exceptional comfort for small riders, optimizing pedaling performance and reducing riding fatigue. The Pro Series saddle has been upgraded with hollow cro-moly rails for additional weight saving.
