We received this bike last week for our 3.5 year old. After a little over a year on the Rothan, she was ready for the next step. The transition from the balance bike to the Cnoc with pedals has been seamless (no training wheels). I think that this is due in large part to IslaBikes’ high quality well through out products. I have a feeling that I will be purchasing IslaBikes for many years to come. Thanks to IslaBikes for focusing on this market and thanks for doing it right!

We bought this bike for my son about 2 months before his 3rd Birthday. He was still a little bit to small even for the CNOC14 small but he was able to pick it up in literal minutes. Now that he has had the bike for a few months he is already at the bmx track weekly and able to go on 3-4 mile bike rides with us. I give the credit to his love of riding to Islabike and how they built a bike made for younger kids.

Our son transitioned from a wooden balance bike to the Cnoc 14 small at age 4. On his first bike tour, soon after he got the bike, he pulled off 17 miles on a slight downhill run on the Great Allegheny Passage Rail Trail. Impressed! He is about to graduate to a Beinn, but last summer he average 10 miles a day on multi day tours as he turned 6. (He’s small for his age. We replaced the Cnoc seat post with a longer one that set back a little away from the handlebars to give him a little more space in the cockpit and get us through last summer.)

Advice to the buyer – follow Islabike’s sizing guide and don’t be tempted to size up to get more years out of the bike. Kids ride so well on a bike that fits them. When we first got the Cnoc, we wished we had bought a larger size – it seemed small for our son compared to what we were seeing all the other kids on. But the fact is, our son rides confidently, without crashes, on such long distances, we learned that the right size bike is not worth compromising.
